old mill....

I found a really old painting from way back when that had been started but i never finished.. so.... my oil pinting mixed with acrylic.. the old mill, of course it no longer runs but it sure does lean and is falling in..lol

Girls come to visit Mema's Garden chapter 4

Mema had gone to bed early that night because she knew the grand daughters were coming in the morning. but before she lay down she looked at the sphere's she had found in the garden and laid them in a velvet covered box she had since she was a child they fit perfectly in the box and there were still room for one more.... hmm she thought to herself perhaps there will be another...

She was almost asleep when Pa Pa finally came to bed, half asleep she asked him if he believed in fairies, he laughed and told he believed in angels because he married one. They curled up together and fell fast asleep.

Early the next morning Me ma and Papa prepare for the day... Pa Pa was filling up his truck with junk while Me Ma was getting out the hula hoops and old antique guitar  that the girls loved to play with one hula hoops and the others liked to sing with Me ma..

Soon the kids drive up with their parents everyone hugs and laughs while Caleb and Heidi bring in the treats and clothes for the children, the older folks sit around and visit for a bit and then off they go to spend an eek alone and Me Ma and Papa were so delighted to see the children... Pa Pa announces that he's headed for the junk yard who wants to ride along? No one answered so he says he'll just go alone, and laughed.

The girls quickly run over to the garden and tell Me Ma what a good job they all had done... Me Ma smiled and "yes we did we filled her with love and attention". "Guess what whispered Me ma!"

the girls were curious and waited for the punch line...'I think the garden has fairy's in it I found 2 spheres and I jingled one and a fairy flew out!' the girls just looked at each other and laughed at Me ma." ok fine then I just won't share with you My magical garden" ... as she smirks and walks off...

Wait the girls cried we really do want to see Me Ma... ok wait her she asked... Me ma went out side and came out with the velvet box opened it and there they were the steel like chimes on with a sun and one with the moon.... where's mine asked the youngest?

I have a feeling we will find another Bre... don't worry we can't own another creature anyway... we shall just admire what we have been chosen to see, of course Bre pouted a second then smiled... almighty Me Ma ... let's see the magic.

 I think I'll allow Serina to bring out whatever is in the moon. Me ma hands Serina the sphere... and whispers just jingle it and watch the magic.
Serina shook the sphere gently... and nothing! No chime, no fairy, nothing. She hands back the sphere to Me Ma and smiles, you and your Magic Me ma....
hmm thinks Me Ma.... try the sun Dessi, Me  Ma handed Des the sphere she shakes it and sure enough out fly not 1 but 2 fairy's they buzzed around for a bit , one lands on the morning glory and remarks, this better be good were busy!!! I'm snippet and we flower fairy's oh this is my friend rose bud are very very busy!!!!

The girls all look at each other and at the same exact time Pa Pa drives up in his truck and in a flash they were once again gone... Me Ma looked at the girls and make the sign of shhhhh....

Well Hi PaPa she smiles, hungry? And they all went in for lunch with little giggles and acting as they had a secret, which they of course did,

Me Ma's garden the discovery

The spring soon turned into summer and the grand daughters had been on vacation with their parents, so Mema was preparing for them to come stay a week with her.


 While they were gone the garden had grown so beautiful and full. The morning glories covered the gate that was standing and had covered the old antique chair that they had set in the garden there was a bird bath with a little boy and girl and a iron plant stand that Me ma's daddy had bought her when she was sixteen it too was covered in morning glories.


Me ma was outside clipping the morning glory vines off her prized rose bush and tending to the dusting of the plants to keep the bugs off of them when the neighbor lady stopped by and yelled oh Mrs. your garden is so beautiful... Mema beamed with joy and thanked her for the compliment.


About the time the lady drove away Pa Pa drove up and she ran to him to tell him all about the lady stopping to say how beautiful the garden was, and Pa Pa replied" of course it is Me Ma, it was planted with the love from your heart and our grand babies heart, how could it be anything else but beautiful"


Me Ma kissed Pa Pa on the cheek and went back to tending the garden ... she was digging and discovered 2 little spheres... one had a sun on it and the other had a moon on it ... she shook the one with the sun on it and all the sudden  it made a little musical chime sound... then out of the morning glory something flew out so fast and whizzed right beside her head!


Did you see that Papa? did you see her... see what he asked, "Well I'm not sure!" exclaimed  Mema. " It looked like a fairy!"
Papa just laughed and said it was a humming bird my love that was all it was... " I suppose said Me Ma as she scratched her head in awe........

MeMa's Garden page2

Mema and the girls destiny, serina, and breanna all worked very hard planting the garden that day.
They planted morning glories gladiolus, merrigolds, and verbena. they also planted sunflowers and on a old dead tree they planted moon glories.

Mema and the children grew hot and tired from the days works, and all went inside for a nice cold glass of koolaid, Serina was extremely tired because of her illness, when Serina was born she had to have open heart surgery at 4 weeks old and she grew tired very easily, but she was a fighter, she always wanted to be included in whatever others were doing, she would say i just wish I were normal Mema,
 Mema would whisper, your even more special than just normal little one , your a fighter, your smart, your beautiful and you  can dance like no other, that seems even more than normal to me .

They  drank their refreshments and sang a few songs like they always did, the girls would teach Mema new songs and Mema would teach the girls old songs, they would laugh and play and enjoy each others company,

It was time for the girls to come home daddy Caleb and Mommy Heidi drove up in the drive way, the girls ran out and hugged them both then quickly ran back and hugged Mema as they all said love you Mema , be back soon!. Mema smiled hugged Caleb and whispered we had a great time... love you son, and off they went until the next adventure,.

Me Ma's Garden

      Mema’s Garden

Once upon a time, in a far off land deep in the woods lived a little old man and his wife.

They lived far away from any town and had few neighbors in the neighborhood. But they loved their little piece of land that was surrounded by a large woods and wildlife. His name was john and her named was freeci they lived in a small white farm house on the intersection known to everyone around as Grays corner, this was a very old farming community where everyone within shouting range knew everyone elseor were related in some way or another. 

The soil was very rich in nutrients for growing corn, soybean. wheat and farm animals, the soil was also rich of oi, so among the stalks of corn also stood pump jacks that sang there mechinical songs each one with a different pitch.

When the little couple first rented this home it was a bit run down . the land need desperate help.and the house needed so many thing's.

But John said " don't worry freeci with a little elbow grease and if we put our hearst into it this land will be a show piece in no time"

So they cleaned and they mowed and they painted and with in time, it was almost complete, Then Freeci planted her garden.

" there they said at the same time, now it's our home...

 A few yrs later.............

 Their son Caleb was a mixture of them both and was a very successful young man, and His wife Heidi was a beautiful young woman who was the love of his life.

Together they made a wonderful home and family life for their three beautiful daughters.

The eldest daughter Destiny was a beautiful brown eyed girl with brown hair and a smile from heaven, she too was strong and opionated much like Mema. She was blessed with a singing voice of an angel.

Serina the second daughter was a blue eyed blonde hair beauty that was loving and a free spirit and could dance with the grace and confidence of a ballerina.

And the third child the baby Breanna was a dark haired beauty, with a sweet smile and skin so soft, and perfect with a sweet strawberry birth mark that was a family trait on her father’s side. And her gift was that she could make people laugh in an instant….

  Now John and Freeci had taken on new roles and new names,

Their names were Mema and Papa because they were blessed with three beautiful granddaughters.

Mema was a short little round woman with a sweet smile and sparkling blue eyes; she was a very opinionated woman with strong beliefs and a good heart.

 Papa was a tall thin man with long reddish hair and dimples that loved to tinker with cars and work in the yard.

One day the girls all came to visit Mema; she was so delighted because she loved to work in the garden with her girls. She would buy them seeds every spring and garden tools for their own gardens at home… and they would plant in Mema’s garden every spring.

Each child was special in their own right each had her own place in this world but together as sisters they were even more magnificent they were united and strong loving and adventurous, and together they will take an adventure in Mema’s Garden.
