MeMa's Garden

velvet  roses...

the gift of creating is one of the most rewarding feeling that anyone can have,,,,

a thought

I suppose most would think this would be a place for My art... you know trying to sell it, but I need a place to just let go and let my thoughts collect.....you can only paint the surface for so long in sweet pastels before the dark shades of life come shining through with all their brilliance and boldness...

. ..but I'm sure some one will get their panties in a bunch.. because artist are ..... just a wee bit temperamental... including myself...lol. Either i say thank u too many times... then that's butt kissin... if i don't say it enough then I'm not paying attention...trust Me I pay attention....even after 54 yrs of drawing and creating what ever i can think of.... their are sooooooooooooo many talented people out there... that have the knowledge and funds to sustain their passion... it's not cheap....I'm  in those rooms to learn to improve techniques... not to profit monetarily...I'll profit in so many other ways.... friendships....inspiration... and a reason to continue on day to day... with a new idea or....just the simple fact the some actually do enjoy  My colors... My outlook through the prism....I don't need anyone to teach me how to sell... I come from a line of salesmen...lol... And i write just like I speak... pure hillbilly from Illinois...is it proper... I get My point across.. in probably fewer words than your everyday educated citizen....Art should be fun.... not a popularity contest.... it should come from the heart in my world not the pocket book....and it shouldn't be censored by anyone, which it seems alot of other artists aren't censored at all... and that's ok too....if i truly drew what i see from day to day.... it would be ladies that just had their legs removed.... or someone whom just suffered a major stroke...or.... people sitting around pressure on their fistula.... so the bleeding will stop....but then.... I suppose no one see's the beauty in all of it do they..... but it exist there..... when a nurse spends a little extra effort to make your day seem a little less mundane.... or a tech shares a laugh with you while she's working... You spend more time with the dialysis unit people than you do ur own family.... you grow to know them to love them .. and yes You even get pissed off ... just like family...so when i spend a day hooked up to that machine...and i look around the room.... and see someone isn't there that day... or maybe that week...well .... then i have to come home and make a little beauty in my life with my imagination.... the magic of color.... and just a little time forgetting  that I'm that one lady that sit'sin that chair.... 3 times a week for 4 yr;s....... and just a very few of us started out together....   I do hope My friends enjoy the colors of My world....because.... being in the presence of such talented artist... is probably one of the most exciting things to me... just watching the dynamics.... the passions.... and the bullshit too... hey it's life!.

A word

A word, a laugh,
The tones that come from your throat
A look, a feeling,
This invades my soul,
And runs thru me like a sharp knife

 Harshness, gentleness,
That takes me to another place
Emotions, desires,
Those confuse my mind once again,
And finally a peace.
Knowing you were always there

Mistress Star.....

As the fire from the hearth casts a deep magenta and amber glow upon the molded grayish stones of the eroded dungeon Her form shadows like a demon of the darkness ….. With Her head held High... and Her body carried with the grace of the flame itself She raises Her arms above Her head as Her head begins to roll wildly tussling Her long mane as She looks to the shackled slaves sitting against the walls watching Her every movement . She smiles and glares at each one making him believe that he will be the one She will grant Her attention to …dancing seductively,, Her body in sync with every beat and vibration She runs Her hands slowly down her heaving ample breasts and wickedly smiles from Her own seductive touch ….they are captivated by Her trance like glare,, and almost terrified of the wicked grin upon Her lips as the music calls to Her.. Placing one foot on the belly of one male slave and stepping hard in the groin of another She sways allowing them to take in Her sweet fragrance, teasing, taunting. Watching the flame of desire grow as bright as the dancing flames from the hearth ….She turns, and slowly and confidently walks back to the hearth and its warmth, seduction is Her tool … and they are forever Hers Mind body and Soul……………………..Theresa ( Mistress Star) Sechrest...

looking upon My rose

As I am looking upon a rose, smelling the sweet fragrance and feeling the slight prick of the softened thorn,
Feeling the gentle petal makes my mind wander to days of softness. Love and laughter,
Feeling the stiffened thorn reminds me that all is not right with in the world, not all is velvety smooth.
And smelling the fragrance warns me that even though the smell is sweet it is alluring to those that feed upon its scent.
The texture of the leaf is soft yet strong and the different shades of green within the same branch, reminds me that this world is one of color.

Soon this beautiful plant will begin to wither, its branches will turn to a woody brown and the rose wont bloom, and the leaves will turn brown and fall ever so gingerly to the ground.
All that will remain will be a brownish stem of a life form that once was so vibrant in color and so fragrant of aroma.

Until it is her time to bloom again for all things in this life needs time to revive to heal and in every life form there has to be a season.
So as I smell the last rose of the summer I bid you farewell until it is time for your beauty to caress my senses once again.

And even though your beauty will have faded with the season and the velvety petals have fallen to the ground,
I will look upon you even then with just a skeleton of your wooden stem and the grayish thorn, was left behind, covered in the snow in the dead of winter and remember the pleasures you brought me.

I’ll be waiting for the warmth of the summers sun to revive your woody stem to that supple green once again and the color, velvety texture and that fragrance that I long to smell.
And knowing that you my sweet flower will be stronger more vibrant and fragrant than that of the previous year before because you took the time to heal as nature demands of us all.

And I will be here waiting I will nurture you and care for you with all the love I have to give any entity, because you bring pleasure into my life
